Greetings. You have found a small archive I maintain in my own hand—words for any who wish to know who I am and what I have done, without the embellishments of holodramas or propaganda.

Who I am

I am Obi-Wan Kenobi, once called Ben in quieter years. I was born on Stewjon and taken into the Jedi Order as an infant, as is our way. My master was Qui-Gon Jinn, a man of uncommon patience and vision; under him I learned that the Force is not a weapon to brandish, but a current in which we must learn to stand upright without being swept away.

I rose to the rank of Jedi Knight, and later Jedi Master, and took a seat on the Jedi Council in time. I have been called negotiator, general, teacher, and exile. Titles are useful to others; to me, the only title that ever mattered was guardian—of the weak, of the peace, and of the hope that light endures when the galaxy forgets how to see it.

What I have done

I have stood in council chambers and on battlefields. I served the Republic during the Clone Wars not because I loved war—no Jedi does—but because innocent worlds were burning, and someone had to stand between them and the darkness. I led clones who deserved better than the fate history dealt them, and I watched friends fall to fear, pride, and treachery.

I took Anakin Skywalker as my Padawan at my master’s dying wish. Training him was the greatest honor and the heaviest burden of my life. I believed in his heart when others doubted; I failed to turn him from the path that became Darth Vader. That failure is mine to carry. It does not absolve his choices—but it is not a wound I have ever hidden from.

When the Temple fell and the Order was betrayed, I did what I could: I safeguarded the newborn children of the fallen, I fought my brother because the galaxy could not afford his unchecked rage, and I went into hiding so that one day a new hope might live. On Tatooine I watched from a distance—not idle, but patient—until Luke Skywalker was ready to hear the truth about his father and the Force.

I have dueled Sith, escaped Inquisitors, and walked paths that would have broken a lesser will. I have also poured tea, bartered with Jawas, and told stories to farmers’ children. The Force is in all of it.

If you read this, know that I write not for glory, but for clarity. I am Obi-Wan Kenobi. I serve the light. And wherever you are—may the Force be with you.
